Overview

Birria Haus stands out in New Braunfels as a vibrant taco destination, perfect for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors. Located conveniently on South Business 35, this taco trailer brings traditional birria recipes to life with a contemporary twist, blending comfort and spice in every bite. The star here is undeniably the quesabirria—crispy, cheese-laden tacos fried in a rich, spicy birria sauce that bursts with complexity and warmth. Whether you opt for chicken, brisket, or the classic al pastor, each taco is accompanied by freshly chopped cilantro, onions, and house-made salsa that add freshness and balance.

The menu doesn’t stop at tacos; their uniquely crafted birria ramen is a bold fusion worth noting, featuring tender meats simmered in the same spicy birria consommé and topped with vibrant garnishes. This inventive take transforms a beloved Mexican staple into a soul-warming bowl that draws both taco aficionados and ramen lovers alike. For a comforting side, their rice and beans complement the main dishes well—the rice, in particular, delivers a strong, flavorful presence despite occasional texture quirks.

Birria Haus’s atmosphere reflects the casual, welcoming essence of a food truck—no frills, just focused on delivering bold tastes and hearty portions. It’s a hotspot for locals and visitors who appreciate genuine, no-nonsense Mexican cuisine presented with care. Lunch was Awesome!! Ordered the Tot-Chos Al Pastor and added fresh Jalapenos. WOW. Like 3lbs of food. I couldnt finish it. Lots of nacho cheese, great tasting pastor, and spicy salsa. I cannot wait to go back and try something new. Owner was super cool as well. Highly recommend if you can find it.

Some of the best al pastor street tacos we’ve had; definitely the best we’ve had in the last couple years. The quesabirria brisket tacos were also fantastic. Birria is too spicy for me, but my husband was very happy with it. Beans and rice were also good. Forgot to try the salsas because the tacos were so good! We’ll definitely be back. Hopefully we won’t miss the tiny sign and have to back up next time.

I love the quesabirria and their tacos are pretty good. I love that the plate comes with rice and beans, though I normally dont eat the beans, just a personal preference. The rice is very flavorful. I’d just call out that sometimes the rice is a bit mushy for me, might just be the amount of water used when cooking the rice. :) I still eat the whole thing because this plate is packed with great flavors!! I wish y’all were open more often They are usually very busy during lunch hour. Tip: call and order for pickup.
